Among the blue states that delivered the White House to President-elect Barack Obama, one truly lived up to its marquee billing in the 1961 Elvis Presley musical: "Blue Hawaii." Hawaii voters backed island-born Obama more than any other state, giving him 72 percent of the vote.



As he assembles his new administration, Obama may tap some of the Kennedy clan. Several Kennedy family members are said to be under consideration for positions in the Obama administration, including Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (possible head of the Environmental Protection Agency), Caroline Kennedy (possible U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations) and California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (possible energy secretary).



Gov. Ed Rendell has ruled out taking a job in the Obama administration before his term ends in January 2011, in part because a midterm departure could open the door to a GOP takeover of Pennsylvania state government, his spokesman said Friday.



HBO has acquired a still-untitled documentary about Obama that will air on the cable channel next year. The film, produced by Edward Norton and his production company, Class 5 Films, was shot over the last 2 1/2 years with the cooperation

of Obama and his

campaign.



The first postelection interview with Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has gone to Fox News host Greta Van Susteren, the network said Friday. The host of "On the Record" flew on Friday to Alaska, where she'll interview Palin for airing Monday.
