Spencer Kaplanis a senior and a talented art student at Half Hollow Hills High School East in Dix Hills. He is passionate about photography, art, world languages, science and learning. Spencer is president of the school’s Photography Club the National Art Honor Society, National Honor Society, and French Honor Society. Spencer has explored ceramics and sculpture and has excelled in the photography sequence. His work was exhibited in the Heckscher Museum of Art’s Long Island’s Best high school art competition where he won an award for his Roy Lichtenstein-inspired reflective photo-collage. He also won ‘Best in Photography’ at the 2012 annual district art show.
Spencer eloquently balances the arts, academics and extracurricular activities. He is highly motivated and hardworking and has become a mentor to his peers. Spencer plans to study pre-med major in his college years.
