When world travelers Sibil Sebastian and Jason John decided to tie the knot, they tapped their love of Bollywood, India's film industry, to make their wedding day memorable.

"It was always Jason's dream to be the hero of a Bollywood movie someday," says Sibil, who grew up in East Meadow and works in the financial services industry. The couple became stars of their own Indian movies by creating authentic movie posters.

"The posters looked so good that some of our guests thought we really were starring in the movies!" Sibil says.

Sibil, 27, and Jason, 34, both of South Indian descent, had been introduced by a mutual friend after Jason's visit to New York from his native Texas last year. The couple began dating in August.

One evening in November, as they strolled across the Brooklyn Bridge, Jason took the leap (not literally) and proposed with a ring of pavé cut diamonds across two rows and a round cut diamond in the center. "I had an idea he was going to propose soon," she recalls.

The couple's mutual love of world travel helped bring them together. Jason started talking to Sibil to find out more about a trip he was planning to South Africa with his friends. Sibil had recently returned from South Africa and had tips to share. Ironically, Jason has since canceled that trip and is now planning another trip to South Africa - this time for his November honeymoon.

"We both love to travel and we've been to nearly every continent," Sibil says.

The ceremony took place on May 2 at the Church of St. Rocco in Glen Cove.

Sibil's cousins Teena Joseph Mathew and Anita Sundaresh were maids of honor. Jason's college friends Toby John and Sumanth Reddy were best men.

Sibil's gown was a Rania by Pronovias, a sleeveless, silk, white ivory dress, mermaid-cut with crystal embellishments, a court train and beading on the V-neck and straps. Jason's tuxedo had a Nehru-style collar.

The reception was at the Marriott in Islandia where DJ Shahid of Rose Events kept the dance floor pulsating with a mix of Indian music, rock, pop and '80s classics. The couple's 300 guests dined on chicken piccata and strip steak. The cocktail hour featured Indian specialties, such as pakoras, small, spicy vegetable- or meat-filled fritters.

The cake was a three-layer ivory butter cream with orange paisley designs, keeping with the Bollywood-themed orange and rust color decor.

Following the cake, Sibil tossed her bridal bouquet of white peonies and roses wrapped in a satin bow and adorned with pearls.

"I thought the wedding was amazing," says Jason, a network engineer at the Department of Defense in Fort Worth, Texas.

Sibil, agrees, adding that the best part of all was . . . "finding Jason."
