JCPenney partners with Dress for Success for charity
JCPenney has partnered up with Dress for Success to help provide professional clothing for women-in-need. Throughout February, JCPenney shoppers can round up their purchases to the nearest whole dollar and donate the difference to the charity.
The donations can be received in-store or online for any and all merchandise in the store, such as some of their most popular brands like Betsey Johnson, Nicole Miller, Liz Claiborne and more.
These donations will benefit Dress for Success, an organization that provides career development tools for disadvantaged women, as they help them while they are unemployed, through their job search and, finally, once they are employed. Shoppers will be able to personally help these women move to their next steps.
“Anyone and everyone can play a role in helping an unemployed woman enter the workforce, which we know helps her, her family, her community and our economy,” said Joi Gordon, CEO of Dress for Success Worldwide. “ . . . with JCPenney’s support, we will be able to expand the assistance that we provide to more than 65,000 women each year.”
More than 7.3 percent of adult women are unemployed, says president of JCP Cares Miki Woodward. By rounding up purchases, shoppers can help these women achieve professional fulfillment.
