ASBURY PARK - Shore towns are trying to make up for a slow start to the season with just one week of summer left.

On the Asbury Park boardwalk, the sign may say "open for business," but not all tourists got the message. Parking spots, which normally cost $15 each, are going for $5 less. Parking attendant Tim Smith says business at his lot is down almost 60 percent.

While summer sales didn't smash any records, business owners say that business has picked up since the start of the season.

While Superstorm Sandy kept some tourists away, others came down to the Shore because of the storm.
