Silver Alert finds missing nun Therese McMahon
SLOATSBURG - Police have found a nun that went missing yesterday while on a retreat with the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate in Sloatsburg.
Officials say a driver spotted 74-year-old Sister Therese McMahon driving her car in Haverstraw today after seeing the Silver Alert notifications. The alert motorist was able to follow Sister McMahon, who suffers from dementia, and call police.
Cops were able to get to the nun around 11:30 a.m. today on Route 9W. They say she is safe and unharmed, but was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital for evaluation.
The 74-year-old lives in the Bronx.
