What could be more enjoyable than gliding across a smooth

sheet of ice? Or rolling seamlessly along the pavement with the wind at your

back and music in your ears?

Ice skating, roller skating and skateboarding are popular Long Island

activities. Most ice rinks are open year-round, though, in general, it's

wheels in the spring and summer, ice skates in fall and winter. Many rinks also

offer lessons, summer camps and hockey leagues.
