For the past two summers, I attended sailing camp in the Hamptons. The camp I go to is called Town of Southampton Sailing Camp. Each session is two weeks long, and you go on weekdays.
For about an hour and a half, or two hours a day, we sail in the bay. Depending on the course and the direction of the wind, we sail in all different directions.
Usually there are six or seven boats sailing at one time, with two or three people in a boat. I have learned so much about sailing since I started sailing camp. It is so much fun. Even if the boat tips over, the sailing instructors are on another boat and come check up on you.
Before we go sailing, the instructors tell us what course we are going to be sailing and the direction in which the wind is blowing. After a lesson on the course, we go out sailing with one or two other people.
Sailing camp is a great summer activity. It is a great way to stay active and outside while having a great time.
