1. ALEX RODRIGUEZ VS. THE WORLD
Alex Rodriguez has ruled the tabloid front and back pages since MLB suspended him for 211 games. It began in January when the Biogenesis scandal broke and still hasn't ended, as an arbitrator decides what to do about A-Rod's ban. Rodriguez even got to play in 2013, batting .244 with seven home runs -- including his record 24th career grand slam -- in 44 games. Throughout, a key subplot was A-Rod's relationship with the Yankees, including a memorable, profane suggestion from GM Brian Cashman that his third baseman shut up about publicly discussing his surgically-repaired hip. It's a fair bet that A-Rod will be on this list again come next December. |(Credit: AP)
