WINFIELD KILLS SEAGULL

Hall of Famer Dave Winfield, then with the Yankees, struck and killed a seagull with a warm-up throw before the fifth inning against the Toronto Blue Jays at Exhibition Stadium. After the game, Winfield was arrested and charged with cruelty to animals. Winfield was released on $500 bond, and the charges were later dropped.(Credit: AP / Bill Becker)
