A-Rod opts out of Yankees contract
Say goodbye to Alex Rodriguez in pinstripes.
As first reported by SI.com's Jon Heyman, Rodriguez opted out of the final three years of his 10-year, $252-million contract last night. And if the Yankees stick to their oft-repeated mantra that they would not negotiate with A-Rod if he were to opt out, his career as a Yankee is over.
