Beltran placed on 15-day DL
One really big thing that didn't show up in the Mets' boxscore last night (and won't for at least two weeks) was centerfielder Carlos Beltran.
Based on results of an afternoon magnetic resonance imaging test of his bruised right knee, Beltran was placed on the 15-day disabled list, dramatically escalating the team's steady hemorrhaging of front-line talent lost to injury.
