I did some spring cleaning yesterday, as I straightened out the homefront after two weeks away, and I stumbled upon a copy of "Dropping The Ball," by Dave Winfield. I read it as a paperback, when it was re-tiitled (more positively) "Making the Play."

The book, detailing Winfield's thoughts on how the game can be improved, has its moments. It also has its slow stretches.

I will mail my copy to the first person who e-mails me - at kdavidoff@newsday.com - with the correct answer to this question:

Winfield, a member of baseball's Hall of Fame, was a member of the Yankees from 1981 until the middle of the 1990 season. During that period, he had four teammates who also wound up in the Hall of Fame. Name those four players.

UPDATE, 2:51 p.m.: We have a winner! Steiny knew that Rich Gossage (1981-83, 1989), Rickey Henderson (1985-89), Reggie Jackson (1981) and Phil Niekro (1984-85) played alongside Winfield during his time in Yankees pinstripes. Check back tomorrow for another contest.
