Hicks said he got apology from A-Rod
Texas Rangers owner Tom Hicks said by phone yesterday that Alex Rodriguez called him last week to apologize.
Hicks signed Rodriguez to a record-setting, 10-year, $252-million contract before the 2001 season. Rodriguez admitted in a Feb. 9 interview with ESPN's Peter Gammons that he had used performance-enhancing drugs from 2001-03 while with the Rangers.
