--At the Yankees' loss to Boston, I wrote that, while it's difficult to pin down exactly what the problem is, the Yankees need to start winning. Clay Buchholz is an All-Star pitcher who clearly had his good stuff working, and it's not like the Yankees gave up; they fought hard until the end. So who knows? We'll see how tonight looks against Josh Beckett.
--For Newsday's first edition, I needed to have a column in before the characteristically long contest concluded. So I wrote about Bartolo Colon, both his performance last night and his adventures last year with a stem-cell procedure.
