By now, you surely know that Ryan Bruan has failed a test for illegal performance-enhancing drugs and is appealing the ruling.
Braun's spokesman, Matthew Hiltzik, gave me the same statement this morning that he gave to ESPN yesterday.
Not much to discuss at the moment, but this surely will be a big story for a while. We'll talk about it more as more information comes in.

So the Cardinals are in, and we've got ourselves the first Cardinals-Rangers World Series in baseball history.
Sure, Major League Baseball and Fox will secretly weep that it isn't Phillies-Yankees. The challenge, as always, is to get the series to a sixth and seventh game to lure the more casual fan. In recent years, that has proven a surprisingly difficult challenge.

Since we're experiencing a September slumber in Major League Baseball, there probably will be even more discussion than usual of the Most Valuable Player races.
Which is fine. Any subject that gets people so fired up is good for business.
