Can the Mets get back to their winning ways? Which team will show up tonight at Great American Ball Park? The one that closed out April with eight straight wins, or the won that is now 0-3 in May?

Not to put too much pressure on the starting pitcher, but. if Maine doesn't have a decent game tonight, the Mets are going to have a hard time of it.

Maine, who had a terrible start to the season posting a 13.50 ERA in his first two starts, has looked better as of late. The right-hander (1-1, 7.15) had his best start of the season last Wednesday, allowing three runs and four hits while striking out nine in six innings of a 7-3 home victory over the Dodgers.

The bad news for Maine and the Mets is that they will be facing Cincinnati's Bronson Arroyo tonight. Arroyo has given the Mets lots of problems in the past. In particular, he has has had a lot of success against David Wright, holding the third baseman to four hits in 22 at bats.

Arroyo (1-3, 6.37) has won his last four starts agains the Mets. He got off to a slow start this season -- he says he was suffering from some allergy problems -- but is coming off his best showing of the season, a 4-2 victory over Houston.
