Jerry Manuel is at again with more of his Sunday lineup madness. From the same manager that brought you Frank Catalanotto at cleanup hitter, now it's Chris Carter at No. 4 for today's 1:10 p.m. series finale against the Marlins at Sun Life Stadium.

Here's the full lineup:

Jose Reyes - SS
Alex Cora - 2B
Jason Bay - LF
Chris Carter - RF
David Wright - 3B
Ike Davis - 1B
Angel Pagan - CF
Henry Blanco - C

Jonathon Niese - LHP

Some other pregame notes:

-- Manuel said that he will "probably" announce his Wednesday starter tomorrow and it will depend on which pitchers he will have to use today, i.e. Hisanori Takahashi. Bet on the Japanese rookie getting the call, however.

-- Daniel Murphy visited his teammates this morning and could begin his rehab assignment with Class A St. Lucie by the end of this week. Murphy essentially will have to learn to slide again using a mat - not unusual for leg injuries - and he's OK with the Mets' plans to use him in a utility role at Buffalo.

"My situation is to play quality baseball wherever they send me, that’s all I can control," Murphy said. "I’ve played the outfield, I’ve played second base before,  I’ve played first base,  I’ve played third, so it won’t be completely new to me wherever they send me, it will just be consistent reps just like it is anywhere else, try to get more comfortable at whatever position."

As for losing his starting position to Ike Davis, Murphy shrugged.

"It’s part of baseball. I got my call-up when Marlon Anderson got hurt, so it’s one of those things that’s part of the game," Murphy said. "I’ve worked hard to get healthy and I’m exicted to get back."

At the end of the interview, Murphy said, "Go Mets."

-- Ryota Igarashi will pitch again for St. Lucie tomorrow, and if that goes OK, he will try back-to-back outings Thursday and Friday for Buffalo with a possible return to the Mets this weekend.
