Fernando Martinez
The Mets signed Dominican Republic native Fernando Martinez to a $1.4 million contract as a 16-year-old in 2005. Considered one of the team's best young prospects, he made his Major League debut on May 26, 2009. He's struggled to stay healthy and yet to make an impact in the big leagues.
