Mets fans longing to recapture the glory of 1986 will get a chance to see a few of their favorites return in orange and blue.
The trio will take part in the All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game on Sunday, July 14. The game features baseball royalty playing alongside celebrities from the music, television and sports worlds.
Gooden spent his first 11 years in the majors with the Mets and was the NL Rookie of the Year in 1984. He was 194-112 with a 3.51 ERA over his career. In 1996, Gooden pitched a no-hitter for the Yankees.
Strawberry played eight seasons with the Mets and is still the franchise leader in home runs with 252. The 1983 NL Rookie of the Year also spent five years with the Yankees.
