Dave Lennon reported last week that Mets centerfielder Carlos Beltran planned to run yesterday to test his injured knee. Kevin Burkhardt said Monday night on SNY that Beltran had indeed started to jog and swing a bat. BUT Burkhardt said Beltran cannot run full force down to first base because he is still experiencing pain.

According to a report by ESPNNewYork.com that cited a team source, Beltran has been cleared for "light jogging" this week. Beltran won't be allowed to run full speed, but the knee brace he's wearing is said to be helping.
