Mets have another Opening Day sellout
Despite having their lowest attendance in a decade last season, Opening Day and sellout continues to be synonymous with the Mets.
Even with the Yankees playing at home with the same 1 p.m. starting time, the Mets announced a crowd of 41,053, making it the 15th straight year they have reached capacity for the home opener.
The Mets said the total attendance did not include 1,000 tickets donated to first responders and residents affected by superstorm Sandy. The Mets lost their first eight Opening Day games but have since won 34 of 44.
