Outfielder Lucas Duda, up from Triple-A Buffalo and in tonight's starting lineup against the  Braves, played college baseball at USC. His first collegiate home run came on March 19, 2005 in a 10-0 victory over visiting Stony Brook University.

Duda, 6-5 and 240 pounds, has hit 47 home runs in four minor league seasons. This year,  he had 17 at Buffalo and six at Double-A Binghamton.

Duda was born in 1986, the year the Mets won the World Series. Led by Lenny Dykstra, most of the players referred to each other and everyone else as as ``Dude.''
