Ike Davis does limited treadmill work

SAN FRANCISCO — The Mets remain hopeful that Ike Davis can avoid surgery on his damaged left ankle after the injured first baseman did some limited treadmill running the past two days. With the help of a weight-bearing harness, a device that helped soften the impact, Davis ran without reporting any problems.
