Just turned on the local forecast for this morning and it looks like thunderstorms are headed for Tradition Field. The harshest weather is supposed to hit between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., so maybe there is an outside chance today's Grapefruit League opener vs. the Braves can be played. It is scheduled to be broacast on SNY.

Jose Reyes is supposed to be in today's starting lineup -- hitting third. And based on yesterday's intrasquad game, he's off to a running start. Reyes smacked a two-run triple on the first pitch that he saw, and it was a huge relief to him - and the Mets - that he made it to third feeling OK.

Nelson Figueroa is scheduled to start against Atlanta this afternoon, but Johan Santana will be lined up for Opening Day on April 5. Santana won't make his first Grapefruit League start until March 9 and that should give him five starts to prepare. The Mets plans to align the rotation for the regular season just as they did a year ago, with Santana followed by Mike Pelfrey, Oliver Perez and John Maine. Look for Jon Niese to win the fifth starter's job out of spring training.
