The move: Selected Mark McGwire in the 1st round (10th pick) of the MLB draft.

The story: Before he became a symbol of baseball's Steroid Era, McGwire was simply one of the game's best power hitters. Over 11 1/2 seasons, he belted 363 home runs and drove in 941 runs for the A's.
