Looks like I spoke too soon with that 8 a.m. blog entry. Jose Reyes, despite being cleared Thursday by the medical staff here in Florida, was scratched from today's lineup around 11 this morning. As it turns out, the Mets' doctors in New York reviewed Reyes' test results from Thursday and wanted to see him up north immediately.

Reyes' irregular tests showed what may be a hyperactive thyroid condition, and the Mets' doctors do not want him playing again until they have it under control. Reyes will leave for New York on Saturday morning and his tests are scheduled for Monday. The Mets said it could be up to 48 hours from then before they know the results, so the earliest Reyes could play would be Wednesday.

"I have to be worried because I can’t do nothing," Reyes said. "I can’t play baseball right now, and I have to see what the doctors are going to say."
