As you prepare your lunch before today’s game, there’s a good way to manage your food intake. It comes from Joe Torre, who has fought and won the food battle. It started during his playing days with the Cardinals when the team told the catcher to trim down so he could play third base. He weighed about 235 at the time and looked every bit of it. He dropped to about 200---hit .363 and won the MVP in 1971--and never had the weight problem again. His secret is simple. Exercise, for sure, but he never finishes his meal. He leaves a small portion on the plate. That means no second helpings and no leftovers later on.
