Minaya 'just keeping in touch' with Pedro, Perez
Mets general manager Omar Minaya met with Pedro Martinez in the Dominican Republic on Wednesday, but it was more of a courtesy to the 37-year-old free-agent pitcher than a big sit-down to talk contract.
Minaya told Newsday in an e-mail yesterday that he has been "just keeping in touch" with Martinez and free-agent lefthander Oliver Perez, but that there is nothing new on either player.
