Lee Richmond of the Worcester Ruby Legs threw a perfect game against the Cleveland Blues, the first in major league history. The game was the only perfect game to feature three outs on “foul bounds,” which were balls caught after bouncing once in foul territory. The foul bounds rule was eliminated after three more seasons. The Ruby Legs won the game, 1-0. No photos of Richmond were available. (June 12, 1880)(Credit: Richard V. Haro)
