LOCAL COLLEGES: Labrozzi's three RBIs lead Farmingdale St.
Mike Labrozzi went 2-for-4 and drove in three runs for host
Farmingdale State (23-13) in a 10-5 victory over St. Joseph's in the semifinals of Skyline tournament Saturday.
Rich Gilli went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs. Farmingdale State moves on to today's conference championship game at noon against the winner of Mount Saint Mary and Mount St. Vincent. St. Joseph's is 26-13-1.
Stony Brook splits: Rob Dyer went 3-for-4 with two RBIs to lead Stony Brook (26-17) to a 13-8 win over Lafayette the second game of the double-header. Michael Tansey went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Joe Ezekiel went 2-for-3 with two RBIs to lead Lafayette (23-21) to a 3-0 win in the opener. Zach Fritz threw a three-hitter to get the win.
Post and Molloy split: Mike Callaghan went 3-for-4 with three runs for C.W. Post in a 3-2 win in the first game. Chris Irwin went 3-for-3 with a run for Molloy (27-19, 15-11 ECC) in a 6-2 win in the second game. Tim Byrne gave up two runs on four hits in picking up the victory. C.W. Post is 25-24, 15-11.
SOFTBALL
Hofstra sweeps: Kayleigh Lotti threw a two-hitter and struck out 12 for Hofstra in a 4-0 victory over George Mason in the first game of doubleheader. Courtney Oliver went 2-for-4 and drove in two runs. In game two, Oliver pitched a two-hitter, allowing no earned runs and striking out seven for Hofstra (38-10, 17-3 CAA) in a 9-1 victory. Oliver also went 1-for-4 with two RBIs and Sara Michalowski went 3-for-3 and drove in two runs. Michele DePasquale saw her school record 25-game hitting streak snapped. George Mason is 19-31, 6-12.
MEN'S LACROSSE
C.W. Post 19, Dominican 4: Dave Loftus scored seven goals and dished out two assists to lead C.W. Post (11-3, 4-2 ECC). The win moves C.W. Post into second place in the conference.
