Chris "Mad Dog" Russo: "My father was a jewelry salesman and he took the train to work every day. I used to look through the back porch window and see my father cut through the stable when he'd come home at night." Russo grew up at 11 Harmony Ct. in Syosset with Galeeza Stable behind the home. He went on to fame, teaming with co-host Mike Francesa on sports-talk station WFAN for 19 years before going it alone on Sirius XM's "Mad Dog Radio." (Credit: Craig Ruttle)

Nearly five years after his last daily television appearance as part of the "Mike and the Mad Dog" radio simulcast on YES, Chris "Mad Dog" Russo is returning to the airwaves.

Russo, who has remained a radio presence on SiriusXM since his split from his former WFAN co-host Mike Francesa, recently inked a new three-year deal with the satellite radio provider.

But MLB Network announced on Wednesday that Russo would also be joining its stable of on-air talent, starting in spring 2014. Russo will host a weekday television show and appear on other programs the network produces. Russo's daily show will be simulcast on MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM.

When he's not breaking down the baseball landscape on the tube, fans can still find Russo's Mad Dog Unleashed show on his Mad Dog Sports Radio channel on SiriusXM.
