Ivan Nova a possibility for Sunday

Girardi said Ivan Nova (inflamed right rotator cuff) could be activated Saturday but was noncommittal about having him take Freddy Garcia’s turn in the rotation Sunday. “Right now we haven’t made any decisions,’’ he said. “We’re in rotation.’’ Said Nova: “I’m ready to go.’’

Andy Pettitte (fractured left fibula) will throw another simulated game Saturday and will see the team doctor Monday for his regularly scheduled weekly checkup. Girardi hopes Pettitte will get clearance to run fully, the final hurdle he needs to clear before being activated.
