TORONTO -- Jayson Nix’s regular season is over as the reserve infielder will be out 10 to 14 days with a Grade 1 left hip flexor strain, Joe Girardi said. Nix was sent back to New York Saturday for an MRI that revealed the injury. “It does affect us because he’s a guy that’s played second, third and short for us,” Girardi said.

...Girardi said it was amazing to think heading into Sunday’s games, with four games left, nothing had been decided in the AL. “If you would have asked me before the season, I would have expected something would have been settled [by now],” Girardi said. “It’s really hard to believe and I think it was what baseball was looking for. It’s good for the game.”
