TAMPA, Fla. — Nick Swisher declared himself ready to “take the chains off and let it go.”

The rightfielder, out since leaving a March 20 game against the Pirates with tightness in his right groin, played a second straight day in a minor-league game, adding outfield duties to his workload Friday.

“I didn’t feel it at all,” Swisher said. “It was nice to get out there and run around a little bit.”

Joe Girardi spent the early part of the day at the minor- league complex watching Swisher, Freddy Garcia and David Robertson. He said he’ll give Swisher Saturday off and plans to play him in the outfield Sunday in Miami in the first game in the Marlins’ new ballpark.

The teams also will play Monday night, and Girardi said he plans to play most of his regulars in both games.
