If Kerry Wood truly threw his final pitch on Friday, it was a striking finish.

Wood came in with a runner on first and one out in the eighth inning, striking out White Sox hitter Dayan Viciedo swinging. Wood started Vicideo out with a 96 mph fastball before throwing two curveballs to finish him off. Viciedo swung at the last pitch, which sank into the dirt and had to be blocked.

Wood walked off the mound to congratulations from his teammates and loud applause from the Wrigley Field fans.
