Yankees officially sign Travis Hafner to 1-year deal

The Yankees officially signed lefthanded designated hitter/first baseman Travis Hafner to a one-year deal, the team announced Friday.

The 35-year-old hit .228 with 12 home runs and 34 RBIs in 66 games last season with the Cleveland Indians. The once big-time slugger owns a career 201 home runs in his 11 years in the majors.
