Edgardo Alfonzo joins Mets' Banner Day judging panel

The Mets revived their Banner Day tradition last year to help celebrate the 50th anniversary, and this year, they're adding a familiar face to the celebration.
Former Mets infielder Edgardo Alfonzo will be a judge for Banner Day before the Mets' game against the Pirates on May 11 at Citi Field. He joins SNY's Kevin Brukhardt and 92.3 Now's Ty Bentli on the panel.

Jonathon Niese left Tuesday's game against the Dodgers in the third inning after getting struck by a line drive in the right leg off the bat of A.J. Ellis.

The Mets' game against the Colorado Rockies scheduled for Wednesday at Coors Field has been postponed because of snow.
The teams will play just a single game Thursday at 3:10 p.m. to wrap up the series. No additional information has been released on when the game will be made up.

The Yankees are on the verge of acquiring outfielder Vernon Wells from the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Newsday's Anthony Rieber has confirmed.
