If baseball doesn't work out for Mark Teixeira, perhaps he can pursue a career in comedy.

Teixeira took time during spring training to star in a fake talk show called "Foul Territory with Mark Teixeira."

The Yankees first baseman puts on a Will Ferrell-esque performance -- he asks Brian McCann who his favorite switch-hitting first baseman from the 2007-2008 Braves was and asks YES Network...

This just in -- Yasiel Puig is good at baseball.

The Dodgers rightfielder made a highlight-reel catch on a fly ball hit by Wilmer Flores of the Mets in the bottom of the second inning on Thursday night at Citi Field.

Flores put the ball between Puig and Matt Kemp in right-centerfield, and it appeared to be a sure double off the bat. But Puig seemingly came out of nowhere to make the...

There have been a bunch of firsts this season thanks to the new replay system. Add another first to the list: MLB's first win by walk-off review.

Pirates outfielder Starling Marte hit a triple in the bottom of the ninth inning against the Giants Tuesday night with the score tied at 1, then advanced home on an error by Giants second baseman Ehrie Adrianza, who skipped the ball past third baseman...

Cesar Cabral's misfortune is LI native Matt Daley's gain.

The Yankees called up the Garden City native on Friday and designated Cabral for assignment following their 11-5 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays.

Cabral played a big part in the bullpen's meltdown on Friday, giving up three earned runs on three hits and hitting three batters while failing to record an out.

Cabral appeared in...

Zack Thornton is one of the pieces coming back to the Mets in Friday's Ike Davis deal (along with a player to be named later). But who exactly is Thornton, and what does he bring to the Mets bullpen?

Thornton, 25, was drafted in the 43rd round by the San Francisco Giants out of high school in 2008, but instead went to the University of Oregon. He was taken by the Oakland A's in the 23rd round...

CC Sabathia's Opening Day woes continue

It's safe to say that CC Sabathia doesn't usually have his best day on Opening Day.

The Yankees lefty was shelled by the Astros on Opening Day Tuesday, giving up six earned runs on eight hits in six innings in a 6-2 loss.

Sabathia, who has started every Opening Day for the Yankees since joining the team in 2009, has historically done poorly in the season opener. Here's how he's fared...

In what will be a season of "lasts" for Derek Jeter, these are some of his notable "firsts":

Game: At Seattle, May 29, 1995, batted ninth, was 0-for-5 with a strikeout. Yankees lost, 8-7.

At-bat: Flied to short rightfield in third inning on an 0-and-2 pitch from Rafael Carmona.

Hit: The next night, May 30, 1995, fifth inning-single to leftfield off Tim Belcher.

Run: In that...

Willie Randolph turned in the performance of Yankees spring training on Tuesday night.

The Yankees' bench coach photobombed manager Joe Girardi's in-game TV interview on Tuesday night aganst the Blue Jays.

Everything about it was flawless -- the way Randolph sneaks up behind Girardi without anybody noticing, the face he makes and the way he slinks back as if he didn't just photobomb...

There's usually a good amount of buzz every time the Yankees and the Red Sox play each other, but Tuesday's spring training game between the two had a lot more than usual.

A swarm of bees in left field delayed Tuesday's game at George M. Steinbrenner Field in the bottom of the third inning. Play resumed after the grounds crew sprayed the swarm away, though Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira...

It's Super Bowl week here in New York, which means media members (myself included) are hanging around at the Sheraton Hotel in Manhattan. On one of my several trips down to Radio Row, I happened to run into Steve Phillips, co-host of SiriusXM's "Evan and Phillips in the Morning" show, and we had a nice chat about the upcoming game. (You can read his prediction for the game here.)

At the end...
