The Yankees completed their trade of Chris Stewart to the Pirates by acquiring righthanded pitcher Kyle Haynes on Wednesday afternoon as the player to be named later in the deal.
Haynes, 22, has a 2.78 ERA in 110 minor league innings. He spent last year in a Single A affiliate of the Pirates, striking out 85 in 83.1 innings. Impressively, he's given up just one home run during his professional...Read more »
Of all the free agent decisions the Yankees made prior to the 2013 season, two are quite notable as the playoffs arrive: letting Nick Swisher and Russell Martin walk.

With two outs and the Yankees trailing 2-0 in Toronto on Wednesday night, Hiroki Kuroda threw a strike to hitter J.P. Arencibia. Arencibia just watched the pitch sail through the zone and would have been the third out of the inning.
