Yankees DFA Eduardo Nunez to make room for Yangervis Solarte

Eduardo Nunez has gone from being the Yankees' starting shortstop in 2013 to out of a job in 2014.

The Yankees designated Nunez for assignment on Tuesday, days after the 26-year old shortstop lost the utility infielder job to Yangervis Solarte in spring training.

Nunez played 69 games at shortstop and 14 games at third base in 2013 while Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez rehabbed injuries....
