Yasiel Puig wasn't voted into the All-Star Game as a starter by the fans. He wasn't picked as a reserve by NL manager Bruce Bochy or though the players' vote. He was selected to be a candidate for the final vote, but lost out to Atlanta's Freddie Freeman. So when the All-Star Game came to Citi Field, the Puig circus was not in tow.
Boy was that a missed opportunity.

Robinson Cano was removed from the All-Star Game after getting hit with a pitch on the right quadriceps by Matt Harvey in the first inning.
X-Rays on Cano's leg came back negative. FOX's Ken Rosenthal reported that Cano was examined by a Mets doctor and has been diagnosed with a right quadriceps contusion.

Matt Harvey took time out from preparing to start Tuesday's All-Star Game at Citi Field in order to...ask Mets fans about Matt Harvey.
The bit was for Jimmy Fallon's program, and showed that even some hardcore Mets fans don't know what their team's ace looks like.
It also proves that Harvey can do comedy, in addition to his pitching prowess and recent "modelling" work.

All-Star Game managers Bruce Bochy and Jim Leyland revealed their starting lineups Monday in preperation for Tuesday's main event at Citi Field.
In addition to Matt Harvey being named starting pitcher, Mets third baseman and Home Run Derby captain David Wright will bat cleanup for the NL. Bochy said in a press conference, "If you're captain of the HR Derby, you have to bat cleanup."

The debate about whether Matt Harvey should start the All-Star Game is moot. At least to Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw, the pitcher most frequently mentioned as an alternative to Harvey.
