The American League Wild Cards are coming into focus as the season draws to a close.

Baltimore Orioles third baseman Manny Machado was carted off the field in the seventh inning of a game against the Tampa Bay Rays after injuring his left leg while rounding first on an infield single.

Aside from the jolt of power contributed by Alfonso Soriano and the boost at third base thanks to the return of Alex Rodriguez, the Yankees have a decent schedule ahead.

Francisco Rodriguez has been traded from the Milwaukee Brewers to the Baltimore Orioles. In exchange, the Brewers will receive minor-league infielder Nick Delmonico.

If you thought you saw Anna Benson at her craziest when then-husband Kris was with the Mets, you might want to sit down.
Benson has been arrested for “allegedly raiding Kris’ apartment with a gun and a metal baton, all while wearing a bulletproof vest,” according to TMZ.

The Yankees have acquired first baseman Travis Ishikawa off waivers from the Baltimore Orioles, the team announced Sunday on Twitter. Kevin Youkilis was transfered to the 60-day disabled list to clear a roster spot.
In just six games with the Orioles this season, Ishikawa went 2-for-17 with one RBI and eight strikeouts. Ishikawa has spent most of the 2013 season with Triple-A Norfolk. In 49...Read more »
