MILWAUKEE -- Rival clubs have reached out to the Mets about trading for second baseman Daniel Murphy, who is coming off his first appearance in the All-Star Game.
But according to a source, the Mets appear more likely to keep Murphy rather than deal him away before the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline.

Frank Viola is resting comfortably with his family, the Mets announced on Wednesday, when the East Meadow native underwent heart surgery.
“From that standpoint, we’re all extremely pleased,” Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said of Viola, who had been promoted to Triple-A pitching coach after drawing raves for his work at Class-A Savannah.
