Yankees vs. ex-Yankees: Who has the edge?

The Yankees were faced with five key personnel decisions heading into the 2013 season. In each case they let the incumbent walk and replaced him via free agency or from within. Here’s a look at how, three weeks in, the decisions have worked out:

Derek Jeter led the majors last season in plate appearances, at-bats and hits en route to a .316 batting average.
Of his 649 at-bats, only 34 weren't from the leadoff position in the lineup. Of his 216 hits, just 10 came when he hit second. (That's a .303 average hitting second, and .317 hitting first.)
