Seattle's skipper criticized Yankees hitting coach Kevin Long for opinions he expressed about Robinson Cano not always hustling to first base on ground balls. Cano was once one of Long’s prized pupils, but the second baseman left the Bronx for Seattle – and a megadeal – in December.

Yankees free-agent second baseman Robinson Cano told a newspaper in the Dominican Republic on Thursday that he never asked for $300 million from the Yankees or any other team.

It was reported Thursday that soon-to-be free agent Robinson Cano asked the Yankees for a 10-year, $310 million contract, a request the Yankees denied. That Cano is looking to become the highest paid player in baseball history suggests he and his representatives view the slugging second baseman as one of the top players in baseball.
How accurate of a vision is that?
On the surface it...Read more »

Alfonso Soriano helped get the Yankees off to a solid start with a three-run home run off of Toronto Blue Jays pitcher J.A. Happ in the first inning of Tuesday's game, but he wasn't done there.
The 37-year-old outfielder slugged a solo shot in his next at-bat in the third inning for his 400th career homer to give the Yankees a then-5-0 lead. With the home run, Soriano passes Andres Galarraga...Read more »
