Speaking before the game, general manager Brian Cashman said the team’s recent play — seven losses in 10 games entering the day — didn’t have him overly concerned.

“No panic," he said.

How about worry?

“Worry’s not the right word at all," Cashman said. “We’re up against some great competition and it’s going to be that way the rest of the way and we intend to keep our year and we intend to win the division. But you have to play it out ... We have some good teams in this league, we have some good teams in this division. But we certainly think we’re one of those teams."
