PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Johan Santana continues to make "big progress" during his throwing sessions, Mets pitching coach Dan Warthen said Monday morning.

A day after his first mound session in nearly two weeks, Santana reported no issues before long tossing with reliever Pedro Feliciano.

"He got pretty aggressive with his throwing yesterday and he felt absolutely great today," Warthen said.

The next step comes Wednesday when Santana will long toss and then throw a bullpen, though with more intensity than he did on Sunday. He will follow a similar routine, throwing at a shortened distance, with the catcher setting up a few feet in front of the plate.

"Good," Santana said, as he refused further comment about his throwing session. "That's it, guys. Good."
