Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira will miss eight to 10 weeks of the season with a strained right wrist, Newsday's Erik Boland reported Wednesday.

Teixeira had pulled out of the World Baseball Classic on Tuesday and returned to New York for further evaluation on Wednesday.

It's the second major injury to a Yankee this spring. Outfielder Curtis Granderson fractured his forearm in the team's Grapefruit League debut.
