MIAMI – Robinson Cano got an audience with the King on Tuesday night.

And a pair of his size 16 signature model Nikes as well.

After Cano’s long home run helped beat Italy earlier in the day, the Yankees’ second baseman, along with other members of the Dominican World Baseball Classic team, went to American Airlines Arena to watch LeBron James and the Heat demolish the Hawks, 98-81, to extend their winning streak to 19 games.

Following the game, Cano went to the locker room to hang out with James, who presented him with the souvenir.

“He invited us down,” Cano said. “That was so kind of him to sign those shoes for me.

“I’m a fan of him. All you guys know he’s a Yankees’ fan. When he was in Cleveland, he wore the hat and got booed. That means a lot to us. He was the man in Cleveland and wore a Yankee hat.”

Cano has been the man so far for the Dominican Republic. Heading into Thursday night’s showdown with the U.S., Cano is batting .632 (12-for-19) with four doubles and a pair of home runs.

It’s enough for Moises Alou, the former Met and now the GM of the Dominican team, to want a souvenir of his own.

"I'm buying his jersey," Alou said. "Really. I'm getting it."
